Next Baptism Service
Keller: Saturday, September 4th after the 4:45PM service
Once you start your lifelong adventure with Christ, baptism by immersion is a tangible way of showing your new commitment. Just like a wedding ring signifies a marriage, the act of baptism signifies a life change and acceptance of Jesus into your life.
FOTP recognizes baptism as a total immersion, rather than a christening or partial immersion. Total immersion represents the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Full immersion baptism also fulfills part of the membership process at FOTP.
So why wait? FOTP offers monthly baptism ceremonies to demonstrate your new life in Christ. Baptism is offered on the 1st Saturday of the month following the 4:45PM service, and at the water park events held in the summer.
What do I wear?
Shorts and dark t-shirt are usually the best attire. Make sure to bring a change of clothes and towel.
Where do I go?
Baptisms are held at the FOTP Baptistery, located on The Patio. Invite family and friends to watch and encourage you in your new journey.
What time?
A Baptism meeting is held before baptisms, prior to the 4:45PM Saturday service. Someone will contact you regarding the exact time and location of the meeting. The baptisms will be held at the conclusion of the 4:45PM Saturday service.
Who will baptize me?
We invite you to have the person who led you to Christ or someone who encouraged you along the way to baptize you. Or if you would prefer, one of the FOTP pastors would be happy to assist with the baptism.
Prerequisites for Baptism
Children 5th Grade and Under: In order to be baptized, children must attend the “Next Step” class with their parent or meet with one of the children’s team leaders prior to being baptized. This is done so that the young child will fully understand the decision they are making.
Middle School and High School Age: In order to be baptized, students must meet with the Middle School or High School pastor. This is done prior to the baptism so that they fully understand the decision that they are making.
Adults: In order to be baptized, all adults must complete LIFEQuest 101 or meet with one of the adult pastors. This is done prior to the baptism so that they fully understand the decision that they are making.
